Moby Dick is the name of his sledge
After a few years thinking that having a favourite colour is weird, I'm forced to admit that 8 year old John was right and that orange is actually best.
How do Claude projects work? Do they just append all the files to your prompt? Or is it putting stuff in a vector DB?
I used to write drafts with pen and paper and they would often turn out good. Maybe time to start doing that again. Why did I stop? I don’t know. Probably because I was tricked into doing “PKM”
Now when I post on https://johnwhiles.com/notes it gets automatically syndicated to Bluesky. This was really easy to set up. Thanks for being cool Bluesky.
and lo they do.
I'm testing whether the emails on comment approvals get sent.
So, I had actually forgotten to add a link to my RSS feed anywhere on the site. Hopefully this is now fixed!
It's at https://johnwhiles.com/atom.xml - I forgot to link to this anywhere before. Cos I'm a fool!
Stay Frosty!
Grew up watching father and grandfather sharpen the Straight Razor with a Strope every morning for a shave.
I'm a second generation American who's family emigrated from Nordic Europe. When I was old enough to benefit from a shave my father gave me my first as a right of passage. Teaching me all the necessary measures to care for a razor and it's importance as a tool for life as a Man. He gifted me a Straight Razor and Strope that day. Now I'm 52 years of age. I still have that cold rolled steel razor and it's as sharp as the day that it was given to me, many decades ago. I've grown my beard and shave seldom only for a trim here or there, but I know that should a day come where I need to get as close a shave that is possible, my straight razor and strope is there waiting for the occasion.
Just wanted to point out that what you suggest as a better prior product replacement for the present day plastic garbage razor is itself also a disposable garbage product that came as a solution to the lazy and inept individual whom does not possess the skills and personality strength to use the straight razor. It's just one of many examples of the long lineage of trash that has been foisted upon a weakening population touted as the convenience of the future or product advancements.
It's all rubbish.
