  2. In the process of buying a dressing gown on the internet, I notice that the checkout flow uses Adyen. I start telling A, who had never heard of them, that they're essentially the same as Stripe but mysteriously hyped. We wonder why no one talks about them. Then the payment repeatedly fails and I am unable to buy a dressing gown.

  5. Grew up watching father and grandfather sharpen the Straight Razor with a Strope every morning for a shave.

I'm a second generation American who's family emigrated from Nordic Europe. When I was old enough to benefit from a shave my father gave me my first as a right of passage. Teaching me all the necessary measures to care for a razor and it's importance as a tool for life as a Man. He gifted me a Straight Razor and Strope that day. Now I'm 52 years of age. I still have that cold rolled steel razor and it's as sharp as the day that it was given to me, many decades ago. I've grown my beard and shave seldom only for a trim here or there, but I know that should a day come where I need to get as close a shave that is possible, my straight razor and strope is there waiting for the occasion.

Just wanted to point out that what you suggest as a better prior product replacement for the present day plastic garbage razor is itself also a disposable garbage product that came as a solution to the lazy and inept individual whom does not possess the skills and personality strength to use the straight razor. It's just one of many examples of the long lineage of trash that has been foisted upon a weakening population touted as the convenience of the future or product advancements.

    It's all rubbish.
